ok this is the last pic it's hard to see but this rack has mass to it as well even with holding the rack almost right together it's wider than i am across the shoulders and I'm not a small guy enjoy the pics sorry it took so long this is the road kill carolin mines deer word is it's a blacktail but if it is it's huge may a cross breed would be my guess.

Why or What makes you think this is a hybrid just by looking at the antlers?
Did you ever see the deer alive, what were it's tail characteristics?
Also Ear characteristics?
Did it bound, stot, or leap while alarmed?
By looking only at antlers, shed or skull, it is next to impossible to tell if a deer may be a hybrid mulie/whitey.
Now if your talking blacktail/mulie, thats more likely from only looking at antlers.

we have a few hybrids in the peace between whitetails and mulies. the obvious characteristics are in the tail, ear size and face coloration not so much in the antlers. The few I have seen over the years have been different in each case. some have whitetail tails with mule deer ears and face some have whitetail ears and face with mule deer tail and body color. Have seen only five or six that you could tell for sure most have been bucks.

its a nice rack but nothing overly impressive, i am also confused as to why you say hybrid, going by the antlers it is Mulie.

well if its a blacktail..i would be thoroughly impressed. For a BT it would be awesome. but to bad it couldnt be scored as a BT if it is actually one.

Caroline mines is an awsome area. Mulies, Goats, Elk, Grizz and Black bears.

Nice mulie rack!

I myself would say mulie all the way http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif.

It looks like it would score in the 160.

Have you guys not seen a big blacktail? Same antler characteristics as a muley.sounded like it was hit where blackies and muleys are so could quite likely be a cross between the two.

Did you get a chance to put a tape on it?

Thanks for posting curt, and I enjoyed all the pics

Opps, I only read to post 10 when i posted this

That area is nice.... It gets pounder HARD though with LML'ers wanting to get away from it all. Especially this past couple years.

I've too have found Bears, Blacktails, Muley's, Bobcat and Coug's in there. It's the 1st place to get snowed in and the last to thaw out.

No worries. I have had the same problem loading multiple pic's into one post.... Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Next time,,,,, Just put them in another post in the same thread. That has never failed me before.

Cheers!

I shot a mule deer buck years ago right on the Peace River near bear flats that had a body the size of a mule deer and a mule deer tail but it had whitetail ears and antlers. The antlers are shaped as a whitetails with one long main beam but have long points like a light weight mule deer. Weirdest looking thing on the ground. But with the antlers in your hand you would swear 100% whitetail.
