Wow, maybe a shooter next year eh? This must be the earliest you have found a fresh deer shed?

Just a typical Clearwater Monster. These bucks are behind every tree here. :)

Matt,
I do think this is the earliest fresh tine I've found. I've found fresh tine on Jan 1st before, but I don't recall ever finding it as early as Boxing Day before.

The guys on the nash site have reported freshies back on dec. 18, as a kid I found a 3 point shed while looking for a christmas tree!
Are you gonna add that one to the 2008 tally, or is it time to start the count at zero again???
What did it score? Its so huge it hardly fits on my monitor screen!

Mark,
I haven't taped him yet but this monster has to be at least 100 inches, might even go 110. ;) This will indeed go towards my 2009 talley. So, as of today, I'm at 1 shed for the season. :)

dana do u think that deer was injured to shed this early? i have only found fresh ones in jan and never even heard of a hawg like that dropping this early... now i m gonna have to go pound some ground... it could also be the last 2 weeks of super cold weather?

I seen fresh sheding blood Nov. 22. and Dec. 12. I looked for them but never found them. Hard to find in the deep snow.

Everbody knows that there is no such thing as a spiker shed. Unicorns pick them up and used them for their own horns.

It was likely the riggers of a long strenuous rut, the Stud just simply wore himself out satisfying the ladies........OH!! the genes he has passed will run wild in the hills of Clearwater for years to come.

Nice find Dana ,I myself would wait till the end of Feb to start looking for deer antlers ,most all are off the deer by then and your chances of finding some would be a lot better.

Dana can you take a pic of the back side of this antler the G2 ,G3 ????.

I would like to see all of the antler to see this 100 point score ,right now I only see 3 points.

This shed is so fresh the buck that lost this antler you must still be able to see the tracks in the snow ???.

now the second season begins, I will wear my shed hunter original t-shirt until I find my first shed of the year, which may lead to my wife and children abandoning the homestead but one must do what one must

That explains why Region 3 didn't produce anything. For me, the deer dropped their tines the night of August 31st.
