Well here are the pictures finally. I won't go into the details again as I have posted these already, and being newer at the whole sit around the campfire spitting and scratching deal I won't overindulge. The evening shots are of my moose, and the daytime shot is of my buddy's moose. His has a drop tine on the right side. Kinda cool for a first moose! BTW does anybody have suggestions for preserving antlers with velvet still on them?

gotta inject formeldahyde, but it needs to be done right away... they will be rotten by now if they're not frozen. apperently it is a lot of work

Well, my buddy's are in the freezer and should be in good shape. I shot my bull early on and the antlers went a bit skanky. FNG's I tell ya! Anyways, the meat is unbelievably good, and the sausage is getting rave reviews. My wife's grandma was quite dissapointed I did not bring home the tongue for her! I have done steaks, a couple roasts and for the meat alone I would hunt moose again. I would like to get one without velvet as it is easier to preserve the headgear, but I am not going to complain. I am the happiest that the grizzly that came in to my moose kill did not eat or piss on it at all. Just a nibble at the gut. I was sweating bullets all the way back to the quads thinking a grizz was helping himself to my first kill.
