BHF's obsession with me makes Rishu's crush on Bartell pale in comparison. I wish he'd stop calling at all hours.

I guess he got this morning's "weather report" when my girlfriend answered the phone. :-P

-8 warming up to -2 in the morning.. The warmer the better since I have to replace the front wheelbearings (..yet again) in the 4x4. Hit around -10 plus windchill in Tilbury/Delta at work Sunday night, snowed and froze the yard up really good. Made for a lot of fun loading and unloading the boats. LR

Mountain Pine Beetle are very adaptable little critters....When cold comes on slowly, like this year, their bodies actually produce anti-freeze. They are most susceptible when it is above freezing and then suddenly drops real cold...

In Vanderhoof in 90, when I worked there I looked after the beetle program...We had a month of 40 below, with a low of -57..Went out after the snap, collected the brood (grubs), left them on my desk for 24 hours, did a count and 98% of the little buggers were wigglin.....

Wish it were that easy that a cold winter would eliminate them, but just not so...

Sorry to hijack Andy...BTW -28 in Cranny this morning...

This is a first for me, I had 2 deer hanging in the cooler that we cut up yesterday and I had to put a heater in there so the meat wouldn't freeze solid.

Here I am again, awake after punching an armload of wood in my stove to keep Terasin Gas at bay.- 26 right now.
