always see griz when I dont have a tag, but try find one when you do.

interesting to note that the success rates for these species is higher as a ratio to unsuccessfull hunts than on the ungulates thread. does this speak to the technically more difficult nature of the hunt for these animals and therefor the less inclusive nature of them??? ive never hunted any of these animals so do not know first hand, just from reading , they seem more elusive than deer , bear, etc..

Mostly I think it's a function of skill and preparation. You don't see a lot of guys throwing something together for a weekend sheep / bou hunt, whereas pretty much anybody can jump in their truck and go out to whack a deer or moose.
The guys going for sheep or any of the above normally prepare very well and have a pretty good chance at success.

= 30% success

Mt Goat
17 hunters
7 goats
= 41% success

Caribou
12 hunters
6 caribou
= 50% success

Grizz
13 hunters
5 bears
= 38% success

just had 2 leh's this year a grizz and a cali sheep 2 for 2 not a bad year I guess
