It was about 9:30 on a Thursday morning in the North Okanagan......I looked up, and there he was, easily visible against a clear background. There was another hunter off to my right who also wanted him, and I didn't hesitate too long, so I made my move....Bang!, and he was mine.
He was scored by Rick Berreth at 244 2/8, (16 scoreable points on each side, lots of junk!) and is listed in Rick's book 'Trophy Deer Of B.C.' and also in the B&C record books....want to know where and how I took him?

O.K., you win.......I'll re-print my posting and include some of the words that I accidently (?) left out the first time.......
It was 9:30 on a Thursday morning WHEN I STOPPED IN AT THE VALLEY AUCTION SALES, JUST SOUTH OF ARMSTRONG. I looked up, and there he was, easily visible against a clear background OF THE BACK WALL BEHIND THE AUCTIONEER. There was another hunter off to my right WHO HAD STARTED BIDDING and I didn't hesitate too long, so I made my move......Bang! THE AUCTIONEER'S HAMMER CAME DOWN and he was mine.
Congratulations to ELKDOM, SHOOTER, and others who did the research to get the right answer!
As a former guide and avid hunter I recognized what a good set of horns these were.......I paid $140 for them at the auction, and had my taxidermist friend Nathaan Aasen of Dawson Creek do the mount with a good Peace River cape. I sold this mount on EBay and got enough for it to pay for several hunting trips!
Happy hunting.......Bopper (aka Doug Grant).
