it has been another great bow season! my partner and i have limited out again as we do every year. we both got our muley bucks and finished the season with whitey does this past weekend. we spent 3 days hunting and was really happy that it had snowed about 6 inches the first day. we passed up lots of does and couldn't get shots at the whitey bucks. we waited till the last day to finish our season shooting our does. i'm wondering how succesful other bow hunters are.

Going out early in the AM down the West Fraser road. Prospects aren't great as it has been melting all day and supposed to freeze tonite which will make walking tough but us old guys never give up. May catch one coming off the farms. will post either way. Mike

I tried real hard - both alone and with bochunk2000 - I missed a couple, let a few more "walk", and managed to harvest one for the freezer. Hell....who am I kidding? I killed it - deader than a doornail!

Went out today (after work) but didn't see a thing. One more day left.....

I let more walk than I shouldve ... I launched an arrow at a "shooter" but "buck" fever got the best of me and I neglected to see an over hanging branch untill I heard that snap of BH on tree limb ...

The funny thing is after spending an obscene amount of coin on my rifle this spring and summer (new scope, hand loading equip, trigger, etc... ) I still hunted with my bow more often than not and had way more fun with my bow than I ever have with my rifles

Stone sheep, bull moose, muley, and a Sitka. And if I can wring out the time, maybe a white tail yet. Some years make up for all the other lean ones!

Had a great season

went on my first solo elk/deer/goat bowhunt in the koots. Saw my first goat, and bighorn, saw a cougar, and Griz. I blew a hell of an opportunity at a good whitetail buck, had a chance at a couple cow elk but it just didn't work out for a shot. Stalked in on some bedded mule deer, but no bucks with em, stalked and shot two whitetail does, but I think they were just dumb deer as my stalk wasn't that impressive:redface:

Saw a couple real good deer on the island, one real big 4 point, a good 3 and a couple big shootable forks, but I managed to blow one stalk opportunity and things being what they are, the other chances never materialized even though the deer were well inside of my effective range. I was proud to have rattled in my first blacktail

It was a great bow season and I had my fair share of opportunities, so I have zero complaints

I hunted more this year than any other year ever. Much of the time was spent with the bow. I let numerous white-tail doe walk during the bow only elk season because I didn't want to miss any potential opportunity on an elk. I also let a black-tail doe go early on too. In retrospect, I should have taken one as I didn't see anything in range for the rest of the season.

Got in real close, REAL close on a nice bull elk that didn't present a shot and watched anxiously as a couple other elk walked past my stand just a little too far for a shot.

I am kicking myself about two bears that I missed with the rifle too. Errrr.

Anyway it was a great season and I enjoyed meeting a number of other HBC'ers along the way too.

I have a lunch date tomorrow but I might just might try to get out for the last couple hours close to home!

I got out during archery season and did the spot and stock on three bucks. I got to within 20 yards of them all and even got up to as close as 5 yards on one. I didn't take any of these as they were spikes. I enjoyed this as much as taking an animal as I know I could have taken all three, it was the thrill of getting that close..

I had every intention of only taking a deer with my bow this year but when a friend couldn't get steady, I made the shot at 149 yards with his rifle & his bullet not a bad deal! After shooting that deer I was converted to the dark side and left the bow at home:sad: all though I did get another nice buck 2 weeks later about 300 feet from where I shot the last one..

Well my bow season was plagued with 2 points! I got within 50 yards of 2 decent mulies but it just didnt happen. I did manage to get the woman into range of this guy, her first with a bow!

Howdy folks!
Just joined your forum. Registered with large forums based in the eastern states, nice friendly and helpful people, but are mainly tree stand hunters on farms or leased propertys hunting or shooting whitetail. I am a spot and stalk hunter only, and I normally hunt up and away from civilization. I stumbled onto this forum a few days ago, read several threads and posted replies, and noticed that many of you are from British Columbia and surrounding areas, and enjoy hunting, fishing, and the outdoors similiar to me.
I normally take holidays during the first week of sept. so that I can bowhunt in the morning, flyfish during the rest of the day, or go hiking. This sept. I saw many deer, including several good bucks everyday, had three opportunities within range before taking a sizeable four point mulie at thirty-three yards broadside after stalking up a gravel bank into a logging slash first thing the forth morning. Have been consistantly successful for many years bowhunting in the southern half of British Columbia (the last several years using a PSE fireflite with speed cams, goldtip 5575 carbon arrows with 4" vantec helexed vanes, nap 100gr. spitfire or 100gr. undertakers through a whiskerbisquit rest @ 28drw.-70#-total wgt 394gr. @ 285fps.)
