Are the deer on van island coastal blacktalis or stika blacktail i think in the lowermainland there are both.

Me tinks, Blacky's on Van Island and sitka on smaller one like the queen charlottes and more northern Islands

All Blacktail deer in BC other than those on the QCI are considered Columbian Blacktails. Even though the deer on the mainland north of Terrace are probably Sitka this is how the record books are set up.

According to the biologists the dividing line is Rivers inlet north is Sitka Rivers inlet south are Columbian. The record book only recognizes the ones from the Charlottes as Sitkas however.
