"Maybe I should have not passed on him". I know how you feel. As the season end gets closer I wonder the same thing. Earlier in the season I passed up on three bucks hoping for a bigger one to come along. Now I am thinking along the lines, "Never pass up on the first day what you end up shooting on the last day."

A nice 150 class buck. You did the right thing next year he will be a 170 buck worth shooting. To big for a meat buck just on the verge of a trophy buck.

If you are going to pass on legal bucks during the season, you have to be content in your mind that it is indeed okay to eat tag soup at the end of the season. There are never any regrets. Good on ya for passin that buck. He looks young and probably will be quite a decent buck next year.

I'll more than likely be eating tag soup this year,as i had a buck in my sights in oct and only had a head shot which i wouldnt take  no regrets

If you want meat to eat, you did right cuz rut with thick neck, tough meat so pick a smaller non-rut buck and if you wanted a high scoring buck you did good because the total points would'nt add up to any proportion, so you did right passing him up---let him grow another three seasons if you want a wall hanger.
Jelvis you did right passin.

nice buck, great job holding off I hope it works out for you and you see him in the next couple of years when he reaches his potential and pray nobody comes in and scoops him out from under your nose.

He'd be hanging on my wall. It'll be great if you find him more grownup next year but you never know. Maybe he won't survive the winter. Too many bad things could happen to him. However, it's all a personal choice. If it made you feel good to pass on him, you win.

Good on yah for passing on him, I passed on one just a bit bigger than him this year and with a cheater point. It took a lot of willpower to stop from shooting him, not to many cheater bucks have crossed my scope, actually it was the first one and it just about got him shot so I know how you feel.

It worked out for the best that I didn't shoot him, I ended up finding a MUCH bigger buck later in the season and although I never managed to take him I know where he is and will go back next year and see if I can outsmart him. Another respectable buck crossed my scope with only 3 days left in the season and now I'm eatin mulie.....my fav
