Came down to pretty much my last 1/2 day of my season.
Got a "little" room improvement but it was a good experience all round.
We had a fresh dump of snow on Friday. On Sat Calvin and I had some fun chasing mulies around. Came close but no cigar.
Snow was crunchy this morning so I thought my time would be best spent up a tree waiting for a whitey to stroll by.
10 yd shot from my treestand. Went about 75 yds and I could hear him take his last breath.....a bloodtrail even Stevie Wonder could have followed:shock:.
Only bummer was that my arrow sailed through him and stuck in the ground. Must have hit a rock and damaged the point on my Montec.
My first archery animal:smile:.

Congratulations Steve. He looks like a fine eating animal. One of the best game dinnners that I've had involved a whitetail loin and a bbq.

Shooting a little buck with a bow is just as much a rush as shooting a big buck with a rifle (for me anyway). Nice job SSS

It was nice to get out with SSS on sat. Just the fresh air was worth the sleepless night . Congrats on your first bow kill I wish I could have been there . I may have to rent your tree stand from you one day this week .
We still have some time left :-P. Congrats again buddy at least the drag was shorted than if we kill the 4 point on saturday
Hey great work. Bringing it all together is rewarding. 10 yards. Excellent. I'm surprised you guys had snow. I didn't think we had any of that yet in BC.
A montec well spent.

He's definitely going on my wall.......well...maybe the back of a door for a double coat hanger:roll:.
I've shot black bears will bigger "bone":???:....but it was rewarding nonetheless. I tweaked my treestand location a few days ago in anticipation of bow season...needed to clear some shooting shooting lanes as I had to let a doe walk by @ 12 yrds as no shot was presented.
This guy came in perfect as he walked right into one of my scentbombs trying to locate the hot mama8).
Calvin-I think I have my old stand location on my GPS which was only 50 yds from this one. I'll draw you a map and give you the co-ordinates if we can't make a quick trip in this week after work.

Oh right my bad!
Again congrats on the first archery kill. The blood trail from a well placed arrow is amazing eh! Poking an 1 1/8" hole thru both sides sure does the trick! :-) I've only taken two animals with the bow and can still hardly belive how much blood and how fast they died!

Great job SSS.
My first buck with the bow was a little 2 point muley. It's still one of the highlights on my hunting career. Coming down to try my luck in Kelowna on friday- should be fun!:)

Yes, I thought he was running side to side but then I saw his tracks down the middle. I kid you not...he was gushing 4-5' out each side:shock:. Never seen that from a rifle.
