Well, I'm back from my late season region 3 mule deer hunt. The week started out slow, with no snow in the forecast, hunted hard for the first 3 days with no snow, seeing good groups of deer thoughout the days but no shooters. Halfway through the week the snow decided to flyand this is when we were able to see what was moving and where they were moving to. Throughout this day we saw several different animals, varying from wolf, grouse, bucks, and does. Still with no shooters. I continued to hunt this one ridge that I believed held a decent buck, and as the trip was nearing end and no legal 4 points sighted, I continued to hunt this ridge believing that the deer gods would come through. So with the last day arriving, I decided to do my morning hunt on that ridge one last time. As I was on my way in to the spot Mr Right was tailing tight behind a hot doe, he made 3 quick jumps down the ridge while I was putting my clip in, as I got to the top of the ridge, there he was standing broadside and one shot with my 270 started to slow him down. (Pics to follow)

Good for sticking to your plans EBCG ,its weird how something tells you to go with your in stinks and you follow throug with it.

You might not have got your buck if you had changed your thoughts on where to hunt this last day ,good for you for sticking with your in stinks ,congrats on getting your last chance buck http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif.

Thats the average size eastern at red lake, the ice is on, and the fish can get as big as 10lbs. I have two cabins for rent or sale on that lake and it is truly an amazing place. Click my banner ad or view the cabins at www.bclakefronts.com (http://www.bclakefronts.com)
