Just wondering how everybody made out up the Christian Valley this year. There were a few posts about planned trips but I haven't read any results.

Deer behind every bush, hunters on every road not looking behind the bushes for the deer.

Those darn bushes, always getting in the way.
I was concerned because of all the logging in the area when I went thru there a month ago. Wondering if all the critters were displaced.

The Christian Valley deer are the most literate deer I have ever seen.

We went for a week and it was pretty slow this year. One of our group shot a typical "local" deer 1/2 hour into the first day and the other three of us NIL. I saw one small buck that I could have shot standing 50 yards broadside but had left my rifle in the truck and my partner didn't get a shot off. :)
Lots of hunters there this year, maybe more than normal even. I heard some guys doing an impression of WW2 at times.

Isnt it the snow ( lack of this year) that drives all those deer off the monashee's into the valley ?

Yes, weather pushes them down the valley. Sun tanning weather like we had this year makes for nice hunting but few animals :)
There's always next year.
