Was wondering if anobody in the lower mainland could give me info on what it cost them to have a animal such as a deer head taxidermied.

-What did it cost you?
-Here's the place to show off your finished product that your proud to show off.

Like anything, prices vary. I've seen shoulders goin for as little as $450.00

One thing to remember is that not always is the cheapest price 'the deal'. It's very important to see samples of work AND talk with past clients, while not being in a rush. Doin some leg-work early on will save headaches later.

And,,,, while pictures do look pretty, it's tough to get a sense of the job from them.

Nice 3 Kills. I will be looking for a deer mount next year as well as a bear rug. Gotta start saving now.

shop for a decent taxidermist... if you get your animal back really quickly typically it means they use a pickle for tanning rather than a true tan... unless you need a cape and they have one ready....
pickles are the cheap and easy way to tan a hide .,...but over the years the hide will stretch and crack... pay a little more from a proper tanning job....
if your looking for a good taxidermist in the valley contact Jamie from High caliber 604-819-2016
just remember it typically takes a year to get a deer back....

At our shop deer shoulder mounts run $600

I think that's a fairly average price to the best of my knowledge for a quality mount.

Pickling is part of the tanning process, it's not actually a tan. Pretty much every tannery uses a pickle prior to the tan just to clarify.
