Last year I shot a little meat buck with only one spike, the other never grew more than 1 inch. Yesterday the Wife and I took a drive after work and she said,"Hey!,There is a deer lying down beside the road with a bunch of points on its head." I jumped out and there he was,20 yards away lying down looking at me,the idling truck, and my wife. For about 2 minutes we stared at each other as I wondered if he was injured, he was a nice 4/0. The only thing that stopped me from pulling the trigger is that it appeared to have had one antler shot off or maybe broke off in a fight and the fact he just stayed there led me to believe he was injured. After a bit he just got up and disapeared. Just my luck with half bucks is all.

I shot a moose in Hazelton once that had a 15 inch spike growing out the middle of its head,it looked like a big ugly unicorn.

Thanks 1947. After reading your response I edited my story. I must have been still sleeping when I wrote.

No, 150 south of Foothills is where this guy was. Went back out tonight but did not see him. We are going out this weekend to take advantage of the last two days. Hope to get lucky.
