Just measured one, 17" long, 6" wide, about 4" deep

Thanks on that! OK, here's a question for you... if you had to pack up a full size dig camera, a lens that weighed 7 lbs and was 6" in diam and 16" long, tripod, fold up blind (small one that fits into about 10" X 4" bag, first aid kit and various other small items, and had to pack it all over the place, would you go with a BL hypervent or the 2800?

2800 for sure, for that kind of load

I have a hypervent and cannot recommend it because the internal frame makes a very noisy squeaking noise against the pack fabric that has a rubber like coating on the inside. It took extensive modification (pulling frame and wrappping in medical tape) to make it less noisy, and even after that its still somewhat squeaky.

Further, the design of the off-the back vent makes the internal space of the pack somewhat less functional. (ie, its hard to fill it to the rated capacity because of the shape of the main compartment).

Thanks for both those comments. Pretty much made the decision easy!
