Good idea for the ladders, now you have an excuse for not cleaning the gutters this year:-)

Unfortunately my gf thinks that work should come before play and im eating my mulie tag this year:-(

Nice deer, does it come with a story?

Well this is my second black tail, It`s a 3x3, not as heavy as the 3x2 i shot earlier this month and i have shot three , 3 points this year. My walk up the mountain was a fun one, lots of tracks and no deer, I checked out two clear cuts, Then i went to the last one and there were 5 does and this buck, he was hurt by a 140grn 6.5x55. ouch he fell. Went to wash my hand after cleaning him out and way down below were two more deer. A doe and a fawn. Walked down the mountain to get the key for the gate. Got the truck up to the end of the clear cut . Was taking a wiz and thought do a few deer bleats with my mouth, Then like a rocket this thing comes out of the woods at me, I damn near peed on myself no gun and it happened so fast, It was a yearling. Glad it wasn't a cougar. That morning i saw one buck and eight does. The lower snow level helped allot. This is the first black tail i have shot that has ticks on it.

Too late Lloyd has seen the pictures. Now i could say some nasty things and call him some real bad names or i could be a bigger person and be happy for him, what shall i do.............

Congrats Mark another fine blacktail.By my count thats 2 for you so i guess its time to close your deer farm down eh?

Steeleco when my time comes and i actually connect on one of these critters, and people read the thread title i'm sure most will think its some kind of practicle joke.

I'm in no position to hate a guy that holds a key to a blacktail farm.:-P

If the tine length is longer in "height" than it is in width where it leaves a main beam, then it is a measurable point.(Boone & Crockett scoring)It is a 4 point where I come from. The only reference to "point" allowances is in the hunting regs, and it only wants "4 point" and better above the brow tine,in reference to mule deer/blacktail.

Oh yes the Boone & Crockett, we had to tell a hunter last year that he shot an illegal mule deer in the fourpoint only season in region 3 . He shot a 3 point and was counting the brow tine as the fourth one. We showed him what a legal fourpoint was in the hunting regs.

Don't use that defence with a C/O, you'll loose. On Mulies and BT's you don't count the brow tines. Whitetails you do. Not exactly sure why, but the regs state we don't.

Cut my deer up today, didn't have an ounce of fat on it. the first black tail had lots , i was peeling it of, was about 3/4" thick, And yes i skinned out the deer the same day i shot it.
