Well we're back from our deer hunt up in 7a. Had a great time there. Eight days of hunting with a friends cabin to stay in and no cell service.

Wall tents are great but its hard to beat a cabin in November.

A wood stove and propane cook top as well as real beds. Unfortunately no indoor plumbing. Oh well it is hunting.

Absolutely gorgeous country. Always mountains in the background.

Nothing like the view from a hunting stand on a frosty morning.

No indoor plumbing? Now that's what I call roughing it. What are the mountains in the background? Beautiful country.

Oh ya and we got some deer, no monsters but we were happy.

This is my first whitetail from B.C. Just a 2x2 but should make for some great meals.

Then I managed to run into this nice buck on the way to town for supplies. Like I said not a monster but my best mulie to date. So at this point Tanya, my wife, is getting a little disgruntled not having seen an antler yet. There is nothing like a nice mulie buck to pick up marital relations however.

This was a pig of a buck and I'm very grateful to the two hunters that happened by just as I got it to the truck and was trying to figure out how to load it.
So the freezer is well stocked again and I'm out of deer tags having tagged a blacktail doe already. All three species of deer in B.C. is a first for me, now I'm just wishing I held out for a blacktail buck. Oh well maybe next year.
As for those mountains in the background of that picture. I believe that's the Clearwater range.

Yup, fun trip. I could get used to that life real easy. And, we're gonna eat well this winter, spring and summer. :)
Good going, I forgot you two were headed out for deer this fall on the mainland. Looks like there is no shortage of deer meat at your house this year.

Well done. Nice that you can take the wife out in style!!! Mine needs indoor plumbing so she stays home, nothing wrong with that in my books.

Funny how all successful hunts seem to be near Clearwater!
Nice bucks!

The powder room was quite exquisite and not a long walk. It was especially cosy once John repaired the leaking roof.
