Ok , we went to Hope....again. We researched the hell out of the area, walked for two hours, found one deer track (no rubs, no poop, nothing else) We then went to the other side of the valley where a road is closed, took the jeep all the way up to the snow line then walked on fresh snow for a few kms past three cuts....no even a deer track in the snow.

I couldn't hunt region 2 if my life depended on it. Doesn't seem to matter where we go, how far we hike, we can't find deer.

Any suggestions would really be helpful as we are debating whether to hunt this region at all anymore. (but in late season we can't get away for more than a day trip so don't know what to do...)

Help Please!!!! PM me if you don't want to share you secrects on the world wide web.

Many thanks in advance!! - o2

I wouldnt hunt hope either. No hope in hope.......

Go to harrison and pic either east or west side. West side had more roads and more area to cover. Find an area up there and hunt before first light till dark. Deer dont like nice weather.....

Stop hunitng hard and hunt smart...

Drive until you see some good tracks, then hunt that area.

Get into the timber, blacktails like to hide in the timber. Look for older growth, lots of lichen on the branches...They like that

Less travelling, more hunting. Seems to work anywhere. You walked two hours, I sat on one stump for two hours this a.m.
But then if you seee no sign at all.....well, some terrain just doesn't hold game.

We spent a good amount of time just north of Hope last weekend. Was a frustrating time for sure. Lots of high mountain vistas, SQUAT for evidence of animals!
Try the Harrison suggestion. BUT be warned, as the other regions shut down, the any buck rule will make the whole of Reg 2 a gong show. Get off the roads and take advantage of the lousy weather.

Hicks Lake area is an awesome spot to hunt. Me and my friends shot 6 Blacktail bucks out of there last year. The area is pretty much littered with bucks. You can be choosy there. I would head up there. I have seen about 16 3 points that I have passed on waiting for that 4x4 I seen up there last year. I only have 1 deer tag left so I don't wan to burn it on the 3 points. We drive the road and see all our deer along the roads. There is no point of getting out of your truck besides to shoot or have a bathroom break.

thanks. also can you hunt in sasquatch provincial park.
Read the regs.

Sasquatch park is not listed in the region 2 parks that are open to hunting, so you may not hunt there.

Who said that I was in the park. Go to Bear Mtn FSR and Slollicum FSR. I bow hunt up there and it isn't in the Sasquatch Park. If you find a tree stand and it says Dirty on it, you have found one of my spots. Feel free to bow hunt out of it.

Absolutely incorrect.

Only one person hunts there, and his name is Gatehouse. I don't think you want to mess with him.

Pemberton has been pretty tough hunting this year, actually. Not many deer from most reports.

I actually went to Squamish and got a buck there!

I would hunt a couple hundred yards below the snow line, once you find some of their trails then you are in the right area. I love the snow it pushes them down a little lower every time. Remember they go down at night and then back up in the morning.
