FINALY the pics of my 7x7..

sorry about the wait guys.. looks like alot of you were chompin at the bit for this one!!!

been hunting this deer for 3 years now.. i've seen him a few times.. but you know those big ones.. they're pretty smart.. here it goes..

my uncle and I (swampdog) head up the hill yesterday around noon we get set up in my spot about 1:00 1:30 plan is i'm going to sit in between my uncle that is going to rattle. and where the deer bed down in the thick timber.. well a hour goes by and i hear a branch break.. then nothing.. so i wait.. then half hour later another branch.. and this time i hear a sound like the antlers raking off a branch that he walked past.. then nothin.. 20 mins later i hear him behind me.. so as i slowly turn something spooks him and he runs and goes the whistle and stomp thing.. so i stand up and do it right back at him.. i hear him stop.. (hes still in the thick stuff) so i get right into it and hiss and stomp and i hear him coming back.. so sit and let out a doe bleet.. he came in hot and heavy nose to the ground tail out.. and bang.. 50 yard shot perfect double lung shot... here he is!!

You have to wait for the 3 month drying period before getting him scored.

Talk to a hunting store in your area and they probably know of a person that is a official scorer.

From what I can see in your pics, I don't think your buck will be scored as a non-typical. It would need 20 inches of abnormal points to be. More likely it will be scored as a typical - minimum is 150 which he should reach easily. The drying period is 60 days, not 3 months. John Stelfox in Vernon used to score for the book, but I'm not sure if he still does (he's gettin' up there).

Congrats on a really nice buck, and on choosing the right taxidermist to mount it! ;)
