Little weak on the back tines---otherwise perfect---not near a new record tho--record is 255 this one just over two after shringage. Jelly-big, but no ciiigarrrrr.

I believe it was shot in Alberta with a bow!

The guy in the photo is John Wood from Glaslyn and you are looking at what is possibly the New World record archery Mule deer. John's deer beats the current archery record by just over an inch so unfortunately he may not be first after drying time. Nevertheless, pretty cool I thought that you could say you possibly have a world record.

Correction the B&C world record is 226 4/8. If this buck was taken with a bow it may eclipse the P&Y record of 203 1/8. Amazing buck!

Very nice deer. I had one like that, maybe a bit smaller but more tines, standing not 30 yards away from me this evening. I had to move a bit to get a shot at him. The buck noticed the movement and jumped in the bush. I’ll be back there tomorrow!! Maybe with the bow and treestand.

It's not a BC deer, it has a tag around the left antler!! But it would score a space on my wall, no matter where it was shot!!

Yeah pretty sure they dont wrap tags around the bone in alberta either.
Is this just a random picture you copied or is there a story behind it?

Nope. Don't think so. They tag em through the tarsals.

Saskatchewan wraps a paper tag around the antler. And now also one through a tendon and one anywhere through the hide. Three tags per deer. Does get one through the ear.

Glaslyn is in Sask, which would suggest this deer is from Sask.

I was curious about the tagging requirements in alberta so I quickly looked it up:

Immediately after killing a big game animal, the appropriate tag(s) must be affixed and securely locked to the animal as follows:

trophy sheep, goat - one tag through the nostril and, as soon as the skin is removed from the skull, one tag around the lower bone of the eye socket leaving the horns and eye intact.

moose, elk, deer, antelope, bison and non-trophy sheep - through the space between the bone and the tendon of a hind leg directly above the hock and around either the bone or the tendon.

bear and cougar - to the skin.

I would say it would be around the 222 mark ,there sure are some monsters back there in Alberta ,a friend called me yesterday that just got back from the hunt there ,he is sending me some pic of the WT deer and Mule deer they got there.

He said that the one mule deer he got scores around the 190 typical mark.
I will post 3 of the deer on a new thread latter ,I tool a pic of 3 of them yesterday ,the young fella just lives down the road from me.

This pic was sent to me via email from the father in law. Decided to post it to see what it would score. Couldn't care less where it was shot or what it was shot with for that matter.

Shoot first, score later. One of those bucks that's a no-brainer!!! No clue what he would score, but a monster none-the-less!!!
