Well I got out to 3-12 yesterday in the fresh air.

At first light at 5130 feet it was -9. Hiked to the top of a cutblock and glassed for several hours, then hiked/scouted in the forest.

Had the whole place to myself but no animals. Even tried calling Lynx and Bobcat but no takers. Hardly any snow in the area.

I 'll get Steelco to post the pics.

BS the place you hunted yesterday would be a place that I would put behind me.
I would be looking else where if it where me ,at least you got out and thats the most impotent thing.

Hunter 1947

Yes the conditions were ok.

Cool in the morning and sunny all day. I would have happily hunted in the rain or snow as the area isn't difficult to get to. That cutblock where you can see the lake is about a 1 km hike from the main road.

Truth be known, they are harvesting tons of Pine Beetle timber in the area.
So theres too much noise and smoke around. I didn't know that the other day before I went up.

What attracted me to the area was the altitude - I wanted to get up high.
Lots of moose sign though.

But I'll take your suggestion, there are other sub regions in 3 that
would seem to be better.

Got a few more days left in the season, hopefully the snow and cold temps will drive the deer down lower

It snowed buckets this morning on the Coq. They even made us wait 30 min before going up the snow shed. Too much snow and slippery conditions.
Made us miss first light. But that's OK didn't see a thing anyhow!

Say, that could be good news

Maybe winter is finally arriving. Might push the deer lower.

Also it can be good for finding Bobcat and Lynx sign.

Get your tag!

No new snow up there this afternoon at 3pm. Windy and no tracks where I saw does earlier in October. Lots of smoke and logging, even on a Saturday.
