took this guy back in oct reg 8,parked the truck to go for a hike and this guy stepped out at 60 yds ,1 shot in heart and he dropped in his tracks!

I made the plate myself ,and covered the bone with deerskin.

You can buy the DIY kit at many sporting goods stores. They make them deer and moose sized from what I have seen.

Hey rp, I've seen deer mount kits for sale - placaue, mounting hardware, the whole shebang.. Pretty sure it was at SIR (now Cabellas) but like you I'm too lazy to confirm. :-P It was one of the big Canadian mail order places anyways...

I looked at the prices of the kits on Cabela's. I wonder, for that price, should I rather just get it done by a trophy store (plaque is under $20). Maybe put a small pic of me/buck + the date, make it look all professional-like. :cool:
