I shot a mule deer some years ago and every point was broke off about 2 inches from the tip...I believe he had been rubbing trees in very rocky country, as it was before the rut, so he probably would not have been battling bucks yet...

It is amazing the torque/strength endured during a fight with these testosterone overdosed critters durign this time of year.

This mule deer buck I shot in October had large patches of hair missing and scabs and scrapes within all over his swollen neck.

This one I took last week, I never noticed at first but as I was quartering him up he had major bruising on his neck and back and a hole in his rump from what appeared to be an antler poke as well. He also has this large chunk of his ear missing.

I would also love to see the other buck who afflicated this pain on these bucks, or perhaps on the flip side what shape the other bucks are in.

A few years ago, I found a smaller 4pt muley antler that had been ripped out by the roots. It was the end of October and the antler was laying on about 2" of fresh snow. Later that afternoon I shot a 150 4x4 muley within about 1/4 mile of the "shed". I figured the big guy must have laid a beating on the smaller interloper.

yeah i know!!! What happened to his body? something got to him for sure! :lol:
