Hi I am going to moose hunting in oct,my rifle is (30.06 ),I am wondering if the bullet is 'winchester super x-cxp2,180gr' heavy enough to kill a moose,since this is my frist time for moose hunting,how about binoculars,what number is suitable for game observation,eg 10x25 or above. thanks a lot!!! gary:roll:

your bullets are fine, id go with 8 or 10X for binocs

Your rifle and bullet combo is what I use.For binocs go with the best you can afford,unless you have an leh an immature rack can be very hard to see.

As previously stated, your bullets will work fine, the key ingredient is shot placement. Binoculars are personal preference, I find once you get past 10x, it is difficult to hold steady in the field without the benefit of a rest because of blood pulses.

the Winchester 180's will work but I'd prefer a bullet like a Nosler Partition personally.

As for binoculars, 8x40's or 10x40's are great. I really dont find much use for compact pocket binoculars.

That's the bullet i used this year on my bull. Silvertips, I usually use power points but i had a box of silvers I had to use up. They seem to be working fine!

As firebird mentioned though I will try different shots when the season is over.
