Wife and I went for a hunt in the 150 mile area this morning. While out we came across a moose head with antlers and hide attached. It appeared to be about two days old. Bottom part of legs were on top of hide. It is a fairly small rack but it seems funny to me that they just left it.
I took a picture I will post if appropriate.
I also thank you all for the warm welcome. Thanks.

Could be 1st nations kill. I don't think they are required to keep antlers etc.

I'd say its legally taken and the guys just took the remains and dumped it. I know I have left alot of small racks and legs and hide out in the bush.

nobody is required to take antlers out of the bush unless we are talking about an area with horn restrictions. if area is open for leh any bull then hunter just needs proof of sex . native hunters aren,t required to take antlers as far as i know. there is no reason to believe a crime has been commited.

X2............ If it was illegal, I don't think you want to drop the evidence where someone will easily find it. Even when I return to the bush with bones, hide etc, I tend to throw it over the edge of a draw.

FN don't have special regulations, they are asked to comply with the BC hunting and fishing regulations that others use. How this is enforced is another topic.
No reason to think this moose was poached as there are several plausable legal explanations.

I think it was taken into the bush and dropped off after they the people had taken what they wanted from this moose.
