Just finished loading the camper.
It is an oldie but a goodie.
'62 Alaskan.
Heading out sunday for 6 days of chasing 4 points.
I managed to tag my first deer this year, a whitetail.
Now to head bak to where I first hunted mulies and see if it
can be a double firsts this year.
I am really looking forward to it. Hooking up with some old buddies I haven't hunted with in almost 20 years.

My buddy Gord got a decent 4 point on wednsday just before dark.
So 1 buck for 5 guys 5 days.
6 guys total, one buddy had to leave early.
We all saw plenty of game, just not enough bone to squeeze one off.

Everyone hunted hard every day. Out before light, back after dark. Usually a quick break for lunch. We covered the area we were hunting well.

Maybe the bigger bucks hadn't moved in yet?

They are there, we just needed more time. It is not like those TV shows out there. Our days lasted all day!

One 5 point shed was found by my traveling buddy. A little chewed but not bad.
As well, another friend found a complete 4 point skull with rack attached.
The same guy found another set of antlers again 4 point laying a foot apart in great shape.

I forgot how well the oven for the wood stove worked. We ate like kings.

All in all a great trip.

Yes it was a most excellant trip.
Friday morning I walked up on a 2x3 and a doe.
I am glad I went for that walk as I found a new lake and tons of sign.
That will be an area I will hunt again.
Excellant mix of fresh slash, thinned timber and big timber.
It was excellant to reconnect with some old buddies and hunt with
a friend I never had before as well.
-13 on wednsday morning.
Usually much warmer. Up to +6 or so most afternoons.

I will post a pic when I find my camera.
