cow elk season

anybody else lucky enough to get permission for the Cow elk season Oct 5-10?


My hunting partner has been gettnig permission for us but on thing, no Elk. The farmers have been saying theres big deer here if you want to shoot something

l recieved the list about a month ago and have called almost every number and half the people are not on the list anymore or want to be off it. According to one of the farmers the elk are not there at that time of year. He said the elk do not start showing up until January. The 1/4 mile ruling from private land, does this mean any private land or just land you have permission on. l will be up there in Oct for the doe cow elk season.

my friend(BCWF Lower Mainland Vice President) is doing all the calling..a friend of his through the Ministry said this season was put in place to stop the farmers from whinning...if they really wanted to do something they would have the season much later

Ex and I are just back from the Groundbirch area(between Chetwynd and Dawson) and saw not one Elk. They are in there but we just didn't see any. Fred

Groundbirch area is not a secret.

It is a well known area for hunting. Even to myself.

hey guys I was just having a little read of this post and I know what you are talking about we did that hunt last year i got the list from the wildlife biologist in dawsen and phoned everyone i could and you are right the animals arent there untill about Late december but if you can find some crown land real close to private property you may get lucky we found a great spot last year and got our elk in two days and if you bow hunt moose are open and wow were they rutting hard this time last year I'll give you a hint find a spot close to the peace river there is elk every where around it.
