Clinton hunting trip [Archive]

Well I am finally able to head out of vancouver for a hunting trip up to clinton for 5 days on tuesday morning. After my old hunting partner bailed last minute on a elk hunt up at FSJ this trip is past due. One of the guys I am going up with has a LEH moose tag. First longer trip this year and I am very excited to say the least, and cant wait to post some photos. Any local knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Dont spend too much time in the 'Lodge' at night and you should do fine. Lots of good country there, try in the community woodlot.

The crown land above the Mound Ranch will produce ,walk up the ridges in the dark and get above the deer as they make there way back from the fields,look for mature does and wait ,the big buck will be around.

870 you wouldn't have happened to be hunting with a guy named Steve on this trip would ya? Or the guy with the LEH moose tag, is his name Pete? Reason for asking is my dad's brother was in that area and one of their buddy's got a 2pt whitetale at Clinton.

here are two, working on the rest.
worst part was that I saw a nice 3x3 whitetail in the field I was hunting the morning after I got my 2 point.

well cant post the rest of the pics, but a big thanks to all the guys who have given me so many hunting tips and info on this site, you guys are the ones who make getting into hunting a lot easier.

Clinton? Don't you mean Clearwater. Everyone knows there are no deer in Clinton. :wink:
