Went out yesterday morning and couldn't`t find a deer , seen this guys tracks and could smell him , so i knew he was around. So i decided to change tactics and went for an afternoon hunt , around 230pm , I was using my doe bleat and it was so foggy you couldn't`t see 50yrds , I start to enter a clear cut then this deer starts to run and hide behind a stump down hill, he then decided to look at me from the other side. Thats when the 6.5x55 gave him a Hickey on the neck . He did one flip back wards and that was it. Had to walk back to the farm and get some rope and bought up a husky chain winch . Man did that thing work aw some. it took three of us to put it in the back of the truck. This was a Fraser valley hunt near Mission. Also seen two coyotes but they are still playing out there some wheres.

Nice job!! Near Mission?? I lived there for years and never saw a living creature.....Than again it was before my hunting days.

Can you be more specific please. Like east,west,north of mission?

East of Mission. Its a very nice area to hunt that deer is a three by two. Maybe a four point next year, I have shot at two four points in Durieu with ssg and they still live to walk . The last deer i shot there with ssg was a three by three and it was a mid October deer. Funny the things you see while having coffee on the front porch of my fathers house.
