this year my hunting buddy and i got two moose tags out in mcbride . we were out there for 6 days and did not see anything and we were hunting hard,it was a little discouraging for my first moose hunt. it was a good fun trip though. the fifth night we decided to hunt the morning then head out. my buddy new some good deer spots back near kamloops where he lives, and i still had few days till i had to go back to the island . the first morning there we got out to his blind before light and there was not to much action around there we decided to head up and hike a couple cuts that were good for him before. it was kinda getting in to the day so our hopes werent to great. as we got about 100 yds into the cut i see a buck jump up and bline it for the timber i got a rest and just as i got down there was another one coming from the right headed to the same spot . the first stopped brodside just before timber 250yds got a shot off and just missed him low  by that time both were in the bush .my buddy had them in the binos and both nice 4x4 s.very discouraged i only had one day left. that night went some where else and seen a few people with deer nothing big though. went back got ready for last morning hunt . we went to where the big boys were hanging out.got there before light on the quad before light .it was realy foggy hard to see anything but we got in there without a noise. got to a good spot started glassing nothing then a doe comes out to the right. there was lots of rolls ithe cut so kinda hard to see then right down below us out pops the big he did not know we were there so i had time,i got my rest and got him in the scope could not get shot then he dissappeared behind a roll ithougt he was gone .he showed him self again and igot a perfect shot my buddy says shoot and i tryed twice i didnt have the safety all the way back, damn 300 wm lever safety he was stopped eating leaves and bang dropped him 1 shot about300yds :-otook us about 10 mins to get down there and there he was monster 4x4 :shock:yahoo first mulie took us about hour and a half to get quad in and out here is somehttp://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo95/huntsooke1/Huntingseptoct2008006.jpghttp://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo95/huntsooke1/Huntingseptoct2008018.jpghttp://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo95/huntsooke1/Huntingseptoct2008010.jpg http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo95/huntsooke1/Huntingseptoct2008003-1.jpg

Nice looking buck!! congrats.

My cousin shot his first buck this year as well, it was a foggy day as well but we kept hunting and when the fog lifted for a minute we saw his buck.Seems that deer arew quite active on foggy days.
