I have the 10x42 Bushnell Elites with RainGuard. As a lot of guy's on here will say only the Swarovsky,Leica and Zeiss are the best for clarity I don't in my eyes see a problem with my Elites and with RainGuard I will never change as it is a great feature that makes hunting in rain or snow bareable, I also have the 4200 Rifle scope with RainGuard.

10X50 Bushnell Legends. For the money, they are great, just a little on the heavy side IMO

8x42 Leuplod Gold Ring HD and a 20x60 spotter for those far away objects. Like the 8x because I shake and the 8x does not magnify this as much as 10 would and they are better in the timber.

Cheers

10 x 42 Bushnell Legends. Nice and not overly heavy. My Bud uses the 10 x 50 Legends which I find too big for me.

Bushnell Zoom 9 - 27 x 50. Porro prism Crappy Tire specials, don't compare to my buddies' Swarovskis, but I like the zoom feature.

10x42 Vortex Vipers. Great glass even if they charged more for them.

Lots of 10 power binos here......mine are 8.5x50 Vortex. I find that the 10 power is too hard for me to hold steady when glassing a slash or a cut block. Getting old I guess.

But the 8.5 power are just geat and the 50mm objective lens lets in a whole pile of light in the early and late hours of the day.

10 X 42 Swarovki SLC for general hunting and Pentax 8 X 40 for treestand hunting and stalking in thick brush or other wooded areas. The Pentax are lighter to hold in the hand and glass frequently (every few minutes or two to three steps).

Swarovski's are great for sitting or driving and glassing vast amounts of countryside, they are crystal clear optics for up to a mile and more in clear weather conditions.

I use the 10 x 42 swarovski slc as well. It took me a while to save the coin and Yes they are expensive -but it was a good investement in my opinion- I definitely do not regret buying them. Do not look through them if you are considering other binoculars- they will ruin you.

if you are backpacking i suggest a good 8x30 as they are compact and a top quality glass will give you good service. i use 10x42 swarovski's for sheep hunting my partner uses a 10x32 zeiss that folds in his shirt pocket for sheep hunting so i guess it boils down to what you are going to be hunting and how much $$ you want to spend. over the years i have found that biting the bullet and spending the $$ for a top quality glass is well worth it

Great insight to all the brands of binocs, don't want to screw up the thread but I for one have eyeglasses and in the field I find that kleenex or toilette paper is the most important thing I could have in my pocket. Do have the bushnell rainguard, with my scopes, find that works fine but for people who have eyeglasses which binoc would you suggest?

7x42 bauch and laumb... I like the lower mag for a steady sight picture. No shaking, and have never had anybody with higher power binos spot anything that I couldnt in the feild, and I typicaly spend a lot of time behind the glass when hunting mules down south...They are great in the tight bush found around mule deer haunts here as well...

just buy a high power scope.

all joking aside anything up to 10 will be fine after that you're going to need a strong neck and a steady hand.

I have carried 10 X 42 Leupolds for a few years now and find them to be great in every aspect except that when I am winded or my heart is really pounding I can't get them steady enough. They are also really useless while on horseback. I once had an issue with them and Leupold had them repaired (free of charge) and back to me within a few days.

I just bought a new pair of Leupolds this fall for my uncle and they are 7 -12 X 32 Switch Power. You can scan on 7 power and then steady yourself and flip the switch to 12 power for antler gauging or ring counts etc. With 7 you also can easily glass on horseback. He loves them. I had tested the
prototypes at SCI last January and Cabelas had them back ordered till mid October even tho I ordered them in August. They will be a good seller for them. There is also a 10-17 X 42 available from Leopold as well.

I use 10X42EL Swaroski. It is worth the pain of waiting an extra year or two and buy a set that you will use for a lifetime and never regret.
