Someone stole my friends jet boat. It is a 19’ Aluminum Jet Boat with a 175hp Evinrude jet motor and trailer.

It was stolen from Victoria on Vancouver Island from the Keating industrial area on October 25, 2008 while we were hunting.

We'd sure like it back and won't even ask questions as long as it's returned.

I am asking everyone's help in trying to get the boat back.

If you see or hear about it please call 250-213-2075 or your local RCMP detachment.

Thanks,
Phil

I apologize for putting this in so many places but I am hoping a blitz will bring results.

Not to sink your ship or anything - but there are very slim chances this will turn up.

But good luck! Hope ya find it.

I know the chances are slim but we are still hopeful. If enough honest guys keep their eyes open maybe, just maybe it will show up on a river somewhere.

Is this one of a kind, or are there others that look similar? Is that a "lifetimer"?

It is a one of a kind that was made by my friend. I think the design of the gunnels is quite unique. You can see a glimpse of it in the 1st picture and get an idea of what it looks like from the shaddows in the second shot.

If anyone sees one like it please let us know.

Thanks for keeping your eyes open.

Happy days are here again..........:smile::biggrin:

Well friends, I didn't have much faith that the jet boat would ever be found but it has.

Nanaimo RCMP had a tip that a (different) boat they were looking for was being stored in a barn in Surrey that rents storage space. They went over and found their boat and while there they ran some plate numbers and low and behold My buddy has his boat back. I must say the farmer whose barn it was in had nothing to do with the boats. He simply rents space.

The guy who took the boat is known to police and as things sometime turn out he was the target of a drive by shooting in Victoria a couple weeks ago. I guess you reap what you sew.

Thanks to all of you who have been keeping your eyes open for the boat and thanks to the forum for allowing me to post the loss of the boat here.

With luck on our side we might even draw a Vancouver Island elk tag next year. Ya, right.

Please leave this message up for a while so other forum members can read that the boat will be used by it's rightful owners next hunting season.

Yes, Jamie and his cohorts are great to deal with, he has an interesting video showing how boats can be stolen in seconds.
It's the increased communication, as promoted by Jamie, between the various Police Depts that has really improved the chances of recovering stolen boats.

A huge congrads to you and your buddy! And reallly nice to hear the thief was shot in a shooting.... is he dead, if not lets all pray that he dies a slow and painful death. Its really nice to hear about scumbags getting whats deserved to them. (For all those who think Im a little harsh, I guess youve never been robbed yet!)

Mark,

As far as I know he was hit in the leg and survived.

Good to see you got your boat back, especially being a custom boat made by your buddy, obviously has alot of sentimental value. With any luck, the idiot responsible will get what he deserves.
