My guess would be 100% per black tails as i have seen the deer on texada island do the same run with tail up.

I'd have to agree with 270 win. Here is a picture I took this spring of a family of blacktails.

I'd say blacktails too, I think any deer west of a line in the hills between the Fraser canyon and Harrison Lake are considered to be blacktails, but I'm sure that's changing.
We saw two whitetails on the west of the Coq, this past week, first time for me.

Definitely Blacktail.Used to see lots of them when I lived on Sylvester road in Hatzic.Shot the odd one also.Saw as many as twelve in the field across from where I used to live.Watched Ruger #1 shoot them from my veranda. Also watched him fire both barrels at once from my o/u twelve gauge one day.The deer ran away.

Blacktails 100% Herreling Island just outside hope have a small herd of whitetail on it , but there's no open season, If there was I'd be the first one there. I've had friends go there and seen them. I also hunted skagit valley years ago, and talking to a game warden at that time told me he has seen the odd whitetail, this Island and skagit are not far apart as a crow flies.
