Photo is enhanced, it was 'a tad little bit' darker than this shows. I think he knew he was safe.

Does that meet the legal description?

I wish our deer were as stupid as your deer. This is after all a Reg 8 deer, where they have to close up the season earlier to protect the dum-bass's.

Does that meet the legal description? He was rubbing a bush with vigor, but I don't see a boney protuberance.

Truth, I didn't let him go. He was in a spot I could not legally take him. But close, so I will be trying to lure him for sure.
Would a trail of apples work ?

I like the trail of apples idea for earlier in the season. At this time of year there is only one scent he is after.

Try rattling some antlers, he will come over to investigate even animals like to watch a scrap between two good fighters, (mma) and mixed marshall arts like (mbf) mixed bucks fight) draws a crowd. It looks like a big buck has kicked his butt out of the bush already. lol. Give um two more years to mature. Jel-rattler-2 more seasons 2 go

No not apples. What he needs is a little trail of barley and a big pile of barley in the green zone.

And if ya are tired of chasing them mule deer come on up and get yourself a whitie. You know where the valley of the big bush bucks is at. Just give me a pm if ya are interested.

Have you actually tried this with M Deer ? Story of success or tale of woe ?

Biggest muley buck that I've ever seen I rattled in while looking for whities. Came in really aggressively.
I rattle, grunt and rake-in mulies quite often. Lots of does come running in...which is good live bait:wink:.

Rattled in a 160" class muley 2 yrs ago during bow season. He came in to 23 yds but was behind me. By the time I slowly turned around he had walked in and walked out.

Raked and rattled in a tank of a muley(body wise) 2 yrs ago. Couldn't points until he walked away.

SSSS We know it can be done, my ??? was whether Jel had done it.
Sounds like you should hunt with a partner to watch the back-door. Calling always works better when two are there.
