Well after a great week looking for bears first and mulies second (well sort of) We came home bearless but with these nice boys. Chappy my hunting shadow for more than ten years bagged his Tues at 7 am and mine was Wed at 8 am. We saw a group of three bucks at first light and spent what seemed like for ever trying to make out the point's as the sun came up. As you can see it was what we needed. We gambled that we may be lucky on one of the other two the next morning, well at about 7:30 I spotted the other two and crawled into a spot about 30 yards from where I first spotted them. some 30 minutes passed before picked up the 4th point and even then I was unsure if it was big enough. 10 minutes later as he was about to leave the only shot he'd given me the whole time was a brisket shot, so I took it. The bullet is burried somewhere deep inside the spine. 1st shot taken with my new load 165gr interbonds in my .06 now to find a bear????

Good going Dave, Glad to see you're getting some meat in the freezer. From what I've read there is lots of bears around so it shouldn't be a problem puting one of those in the freezer as well.

Marc.

Thanks guys it feels good to come home smiling for a change. Chappy's shot was ranged at 240yds, 300wsm 180gr Swift Scirocco mine was just under 200yds with my newly loaded 165grn Hornady interbond. Both animals dropped on the spot. Chappy's we pulled up to the mill site above it, mine was a hour long drag to the same mill site.

I sure felt that surgery I had last month after that!!! Now to rest up for October.

Great Bucks! Congratulations Steeleco and Chappy. The photo with the sun on the antlers is very nice. That's the kind of photo that I'd cherish forever.

Good luck in your search for a bear.

Feels good doesn't it guys.....:D

I'll say, it's not always important to get something but it sure feels good when you do. We haven't had a double header since 2000 when we did a flyin trip up north.

We actually felt bad for a bit, as we left the little 2x3 all by himself :( but then realized he's gonna get all the girls for himself, lucky buck!!!!

Here's the other picture of the bigger buck. Nothing better than the sun coming up over the mountains on a beautiful day like this. Even without an animal!!!

Nice bucks, what region did you find these boys in?

The photos are untouched, but the colour is from the fact that the sun had just crossed the mountains to the east only minutes before, sometime you get lucky more than once a day.

We were in 3-13 north of the toll both.
