I know it is a little late now but what do people use for their moose calls? I normally don't use any device but I am sure there are much better calls out there.

Birch bark, plastic??

Old highway safety cone with the base cut off, had it for 30+ years and it is still in good shape, vertually indestructable.

The Canadian Tire Birch Bark call worked well for my LEH this year. Simple, cheap, and sounds decent. I have heard plastic calls, but they sound no where near as good.

I got a long black funnel from Walmart, about 18 inches long. Covered it in cammo tape. I cut the tip to open it up, and put a shoelace through it to hang it on my neck. Called a lovely 3 point bull near kamloops......that I had to let walk away (had only spike/fork license)....but I sure made him horny!! LOL

I,ve used Birch Bark = Traffic cones [the small ones used by telus ] = bought ones = home made ones = but i,ve found just using my cupped hands = works just as well and you always have them with you =the biggest mistake hunters make is calling too often = once twice max. every 30 minutes = and as long as you keep the same pitch and tone each time you should get some Large Bull action = these Moose are the ones who come in soo Quiet , you really have to be ready !!

I found the extra amplification helped when using the funnel.

No word of a lie..Try a set of deer antlers and rattle. They will come to take a look. Friend of mine rattled in a nice paddle bull on one of our draws a couple of years ago. No shyte. G

I do my own calling ,works better then the real calls.

I saved a shoulder blade to use to rake the bush as well it works very good with my calling and raking the bush at the same time.

traffic cones, birch bark, 2 lt. pop jug cut and hands.

They all work well. Usually just use hands.
