Well, the boys and I recently returned from our annual moose hunt up north. We were able to fill only one of our two LEH tags with a bull, and it was a long tough hunt. We got our bull on the 13th day of hunting and last evening hunt before we had to head back for Victoria. I never did get a shot at a bull. I only saw 3 cows and one small bull running quickly at over 300 yards during the whole hunt. We hunted the first two weeks of October and just did not seen to have luck on our side this year. Anyway, here are a few pictures.

Here is the moose we harvested.

Here is a Spruce Grouse that I shot with my new camera as it flew off into the woods. They're hard to hit in the air, even with a camera.

Crop out some of the useless space and you've got yourself a heck of an action shot of that grouse! :D

Great looking country BTW.

Porcupine first off congrats on getting a bull moose ,that is a very nice animal.

I love the set up you have there in order to get the moose up off the ground ,very well though idea http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif.

Its nice to see game down from older hunter ,as for the wine bottle in your buddies right hand ,LOL.
Can you tell me after this pic was taken how long was it till your partner had the cork off of the bottle LOL.

If it where me it would have already been off before this pic was taken LOL.
Nice pic Porcupine ,I love the way your camp is set up http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif .

yah-congratulations[we ended up moose''looking'' this year]'I'm intrigued by the hoist set up[the older I get the easier I like to make things]I'm wondering if you could fabricate a hoist like that on a quad-an A frame on the back and using the winch on the front to hoist it?You'd have to have it balanced ,of course,or the weight would pull it over,Be a heck of a deal though,if you could drive your quad up to your moose and hoist it for gutting and quartering...
