Just got back from an elk hunt up north. Hard trip. Real wet and the elk just didn't seem to want to cooperate. There wasn't much sign of them moving around and was hard to get an answer. Heard the odd one, and few were called out through out the hunt, but nothing legal. However, there is a season open for spike fork, tripalm, or ten point bull moose, and on the last morning I was to be hunting, I was pussyfooting through some timber calling and hoping to find a legal elk, when me and my partner stumbled upon a nice bull moose. Decent body on him but not real big antlers. I scoped him and saw he had the legal tripalm so I took him. I was hoping to bring back some elk meat, but I like moose meat anyway. And hey, at least I didn't get skunked.
