Region 8 bucks

hey there must be some okanagan hunters around has anyone had any success in region 8 yet with either whitey's or mulies?

Personally put in a full day on monday in the pouring rain and only managed to see a couple grouse and no deer:mad:

anyways just curious if anyone else is having any luck.

we went out for opening weekend for bow for whiteys in region 8, seen tonnes of deer around, i passed on lots of small bucks, every doe we seen had twins or triplets, saw some turkeys aswell, i had one chance at a nice 4x4 whitey, but he winded me, seen a nice 4x3 mulie buck around the osoyoos lake lookout at night,

I'm heading out Friday morning that way. Was thinking of Rock Cr. area :-? ... See if I can get my oldest son his first whitetail buck .... not looking for size ... one of them small bucks would do rageous. ;-)

Also taking my youngest son ... first trip for him. I'll let him shoot the grouse. :mrgreen: I wonder if the elk are bugling yet? Well if anyone else is gonna be that way ... maybe we'll bump into each other.

Palmer: Do you know any of the landowners where the elk are hanging around at? My inlaws used to be in Midway. We have hunted a lot of the area east of Rock creek.

I was out the 8th-11th in 8-5. Lots of rain, does and chicken and that was about all. Not one buck (either whitie or mulie). The does did have alot of twins with them in my area too.

Sweet ... nothing like a screaming bull to get your heart thumping. My boys have never heard it. I can see their eyes now.:D

I haven't hunted to much around Rock Cr. ... :???: .... still sorta scouting it out. Fingers crossed. ;)

Beaverdell has pretty good hunting...a good mix of whiteys and mules

Christian Valley is another good bet for the odd Elk,lots of Whitetail and Mulies and a Wild Turkey or two.

The area between the Christian Valley and Greenwood is good. Lots of roads that connect together.

well after a full weekend of work, my carefully designed school schedule (mondays off to hunt!!) will be allowing me to hunt tomorrow morning :o Heading up to 8-12 with the hopes of finding me my first buck8)

hey you guys i hunt 8-1 and 8-12, those two whitetails in my gallery were shot in 8-12, the rest of them were shot in 3-17 and 3-30. sorry im not passing any of my favorit places,youll find your own in these areas, good luck.

Well just got home from a full day of hunting in 8-12. Unfortunately I didnt shoot, nonetheless even see the buck I was after... Nevertheless I was out hunting all day so i am definitely not complaining. Saw a white-tail doe with 2 fawns with the spots still on them, 2 grouse and quite a few cows!!

yeah i got a nice 2 pointer mulie on saturday morning in the rock creek area,there was three bucks but u know,u can only take one,so i took that one at about 100 yards downhill and dropped it on the spot.I was looking for white tail deer too but somehow they are really spooked.well good luck on your hunts.
