Dad and I are back from a week in the Okanagan with meat in the freezer.
Day 3. (yes day 3, not much happened on day 1 and 2)
We were late getting into the woods, having spent a bit more at the camper than normal.
We separated at the truck each heading to our chosen areas. I saw the same thing I had the last 2 mornings - nothing.
My father on the other hand.
After about 45 minutes or so, Dad stopped to take a break. A few minutes later he saw movement on his left, a buck following a doe. One shot and the buck dropped in his tracks.

This is the first opportunity to use the game cart since purchased 2 years ago. It worked really well. The wheels easily go over logs and branches etc. I would highly recommend one of these.
On the 2nd to last day I filled my LEH doe tag (no photo). We used the game cart again and had it back to the truck in no time.
So home we came. Dad and I did the butchering and my wife and daughter did the trimming, grinding and packaging.
A Great trip - This was my dad's first whitetail buck in BC and what a beauty it is. I'm thankful to have been able to share that with him. Can't wait til next year.
