Well I went out mule deer hunting yesterday with a friend. It started off good seeing a doe first thing, but slowly turned for the worse after that. It turned out that doe would be the only deer we saw that day. But boy am I glad I brought the .410, road chicken were out in abundance. So all in all it turned out to be a great day, despite only seeing one deer.

That’s how it went for us yesterday. Saw one doe and one spike buck, which I didn’t take because I am holding out for something larger. But both, my hunting partner and I limited out on grouse. The 12 gauge got a good wrokout. Today we didn’t see or hear anything it was like the woods where dead.

Nice haul of birds there for sure. I've been reading a real mix on here of folks seeing not much to nothing or into them like crazy. I always bring a .22 with me but maybe next weekend I'll bring the 12 ga. instead. Thanks for posting and they do look delicious:grin:.

Only does today, but I managed a one out of three blues exactly in the same spot where i missed them a week ago. Now that the temp. has dropped, I have definitely found lots more on the road basking in the sun.
