So this morning I went out to region 3-29 in search for a mulie buck. After startling off 3 moose, and seeing 2 does, I looked back towards the road and saw a deer crossing, about 200+ yards away....so I glassed him and turns out he had antlers. Time to put my game face on, so I snuck a little closer untill he was 150+ yards away, crouched down and used my elbow and knee as a rest. lined him up with my browning 270 wsm...BANG, and he lunged forward, then did a 180 and back to the bush. I came up to where he was when i shot, and didnt see any blood, I kept walking and there was a trial of blood, just further away than I thought. He was laying in the ditch beside the road, approx 15 feet from where I shot him. Perfect shot, right behind the shoulder, broke some ribs, blew up half the heart and then out the other side. He turned out to be a 3x2, but at one point looked like he was a 4x3 who got into a fight and broke some tines. He wasnt a monster, but not tiny either, Id say avg size!! All in All I am very thrilled, now that I have officially lost my hunting V card (other than grouse) haha ! And I want to say thanks to HBC member Jelvis for his advice and tips on finding this bad boy!!

Oh My Gawd! Don't give Jelvis kudos, don't you know what that's going to do to his already oversized melon! OK Jelvis I'll phone the taylor and tell him you're bringing in all the old hats for resizing......again!;-)

I need some help. I got the butcher to saw off the top of the skull with the antlers on, so I could mount them. I am wondering what the best way is to do this. I want to mount the top of the skull with antlers on a would frame or slab like a plaque. I don't know where to start or how the proper way is. Thanks for advice in advance
