Got a few days off in Oct and planning to hunt Johnson Lake area. Any buck and spike fork moose open until Oct 31. Anyone hunt in that area? Is it worth getting a moose tag and spending some time chasing the swamp donkey for a few days? BCKID

I was working that area for a forest fire a couple years ago, definatly some moose country up there. I didn't see any, but I was a bit busy with the fire...

Finding an immature any where you take your chances. Definatly a good deer area, also looked promising for bears in the spring, I was gonna try to get up there for bear.

I haven't been up there for twenty years but in the early 80's I was up there at least three times a week all summer long for 3 years. Saw moose, deer, bear and lynx frequently. Nice country and I should vist again sometime. I did most of my hunting west of the North Thompson so never did hunt up there to speak of. A friend shot a damn nice mulie buck between there and South Barrier Lake. GD
