The day all started waiting for my friend from the "LOOPS" to get to town. He has hunted for about five years and finally this year, shot his first deer. (the day after this Brute!)
We headed off on a Road hunt, (yes road!!) we usually hike, the first thing we see is a bunch of turkeys!!! (They are open for shotgun!) BOOM!!! , we each shoot our first turkeys each!!! This is exciting!!!! After all of the commotion, back to Driving!! LOL!! About 20 minutes later, we spot a buck, no, wait, three BUCKS!!!!!! I kick him outta the truck, he lays down, aims, steadies.....(I wait.....) BOOOMMM!!, (Clean miss) Oh well, it';s his first shot. Good on him. It was his first shot at a big game animal.
On the road again!! We head down the road, another 20 minutes. I see some legs and Buddy yells, "ELK!!!!!" (yes still driving!!) I stop the truck, see a bull!!!!! Grab for the Binos, count to 5!!! he turnd his head, 1-6!!!! YES!!!!!! I get out of the truck, load up, count again through the scope, 5 first, he turnd his head AGAIN!!!!!! SIX!!!!!!!! BOOM!!!!!!! He dropped right where he stood!!! The 9 cows that were with him stood there looking around wondering what the H#** was going on!! I got half way between him and the truck and the cows decided, time to go!!!
My friend, had only been here for 4.5 hours!!! Exciting first day!!!

Very nice bull finish ,congrats to you and your partner on connecting.

Sometimes you get lucky when driving the roads ,I never have had that kind of luck http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon9.gif.

I always have to back pack my elk out for miles.

Maybe one day i will get lucky enough to get one by the road side ?????????.

When you shoot an animal how many times is it said that your hunting partner was the main reason why you got your animal.

It takes you as for your partner to make a dream come true in most cases ,again good bull that you and your partner got.
