We went to 8:14 this weekend, our friend had a white tail doe leh, so we went along. My brother in law was going to bring his 270 and the muzzle loader and I started buggin him to commit to one or the other and get it done, so after a bit of razzin the 270 went back in the cabinet.
Did a bunch of road huntin to try and get the doe out of the way, but we were seein mostly mulies and the whiteys we saw our friend, who is in his first season of hunting, just couldn't put it all together.
Anyway my brother in law got his chance with the muzzle loader, this small 2 pointer stood still long enough for him to get his percussion cap in and shoot. He was usin sabots and the shot was a pass through hitting rib in and out. The deer went about 60 yards. Here's a pic.
