Well, I cancelled my whitetail 'flattop' trip at the last minute because I managed to get sick - just in time for the weekend. My tag is good until November, so it's not a total loss.
I woke up this morning feeling much better, so I decided to head out and do some exploring. It was a steady drizzle - usually good for blacktails, but none were to be seen today. I did manage to get some blood on my 77/22. I found this group crossing the road and they were nice enough to let me dig out my 77/22, find a mag, find the ammo, and finally load the mag. I guess I wasn't expecting to see any grouse today, but I am glad I did. We will have a nice feast later this week.:biggrin:
