well went out for a quick hunt this mornin and dropped my a nice region 8 meat buck...just a lil two point with a small lil body on him but he will taste yummy...i didnt get field photos as i forgot my camera at home but i will get a pic of the rack later....weird thing bout him was he was still in velvet...i have never seen a buck in october still have velvet on him..oh ya for the guys that wanna know it was shot with my old trusty .303 shooting factory 180 grain ammo...took the .303 cuz i havent gotten back to the range with my .300 yet

no actaully it was up by mizzula lake..i havent really gone up to "the spot lately"...another funny thing bout this buck was we just stop so my uncle use the lil boys room and we had parked by a slash pile and i watched the clear cuts and he jumped back in the truck we started drivin again got 20 feet and the deer were standin behind the slash pile we stoped by..nice easy drag out for sure...

Hey congratulations “neighbor” on your meet buck. That is indeed strange about him still having velvet on his antlers.

Did it have male genitals? I read that the females that grow antlers will stay in velvet.

ya that was the first thing we thought to when walkin up to him and seen the velvet..but ya he had his deer berrries there

see the growth over his eye in this bottom picture...if he would have lived for another year or two i think he would have been completely blind in that eye

my dad shot a moose up 3-20 last week still in velvet 2x1 we have not seen any that late before shot on sept 30th:D
