Goat Hunting

I'm getting ready to embark on my first season of goat hunting. Having never hunted goats before, I was wondering if I could get any tips?

I found the toughest part of goat hunting was locating a good billy and then getting to him. Once you get within a reasonable range it's easy, they have little area to run. They're also quite curious as to what other creature is stupid enough to be hanging off a cliff. Once you spot a good one plot a route that will get you in range and don't forget about the wind, it can swirl around high cliffs.

I think also getting above them, if you can, is important. Do not forget that their eye sight is 8 power.

And then there is the trick of knocking him down without having him fall down the hill or off a cliff and break his horns. Been there done that.:oops:
