Brendan and i spotted the buck feeding in the middle of the basin . we waited till he bedded ,waited 15 min then put on what turned out to be a perfect stalk.

We got within 100 yrds of where he was bedded in some high willow scrub,Brendan got in position on a high mound and i walked out to the left of where we thought he was lying ,i didnt get 25 yards he heard me and stood up and i heard the crack of the 243,looked over and saw the buck stumble to the ground.it was awesome

FB that is so great and congratulations to Brendon

I wish my son Braydon was able to hunt with Peter and I but he made a choice a long time ago that hockey was his first love - so while most juniors/juniorettes are out there with their folks - he is dressed in his goalie equipment and giving his all in the tryout circuit and hockey camps.

he would love to be hunting with us just some times decision have to be made what is more important.

So I am really enjoying reading all the posts about father and son trips, brother and brother, father and daughter, uncles and nephews etc.

just seeing families tgether doing things they enjoy and making so many wonderful long lasting memories is what it is all about.

Brendon - beautiful buck

What an awesome stalk to start his deer "career" with. Not many people can say they have experienced a scenario like that. Good job.

Great looking deer and great looking country. Congratulations to your son’s first deer.

I am surprised they still have velvet on the antlers this time of year in the Alps. I would have thought been cooler up there the bucks would shed earlier than down here.

Congrats to you and your son F/B!!

Way to go getting him out before his (and your familly's) life(lives) are consumed by hockey. It's a moment that I'm sure he'll never forget and I'm sure he'll come back to his hunting roots when hockey finally slows down in his life.

My boy's first practice is tonight:-|. Hopefully, I can do the same as you when the time comes.

Good work!!
