Going to count the numbers this year

Decided to finally get involved on here. I have hunted for years and have decided to share some stats from this year. Every year I keep a diary for hunting and fishing. I will update this throughout the season to give people some recent stats.

How many animals will I see this year? I will only count these species as they are the most common in the areas that I visit. Take a guess and let me know. I will spend approx 40 days in the bush until the end of the year. Good luck.

Moose:9

Mule Deer: 265

Whitetail Deer: 7

Black Bear:7

Coyote:5

Before we guess, let us know where you hunt and are you counting animals you see on the highway.roadway heading in and out......:smile:

Day trips, weekend trips, 1-2 week long trips etc.!

What Region do you hunt every year? No elk on the list so it's not 8 or 7 or 4- must be 3 or 5--2 has mostly blacktail.
So reg 3 or 5. Mu's? ha--moose start pretty good in 3-30 and 5-1 so that's my guess for now. Jel

I will be mostly hunting region 3. I have 10 days off starting Sep 20 and another 10 days off in October that I will be hunting. Numbers will be from once I get on the dirt road to when I get off the dirt road.

Live in the Okanagan near the Connector and try to get out every weekend and 2-3 major trips per season as well. Leaving tomorrow night for another 3 days to help a friend get his Moose LEH.

Good count! I copied you idea to a degree and in my 6 days out (3 weekend trips!)....

2 moose
128 mulies (19 bucks)

Now, would you like to include sturgeon too!....:tongue:

150 cows and calfs elk ,21 bull elk ,4 bull moose ,2 cow moose ,5 black bears ,60 mule deer does ,8 mule deer bucks ,4 grizzly bears ,13 whitetail does ,5 whitetail bucks for 3 weeks hunting.

Very intersesting, wasnt sure too many others did this aswell! Used to keep track of steelies and such but spend more time in the bush. Last three days out in the wild in Reg 6:

6 moose 2 bulls
1 blackie
4 yotes
51 mulies 7 bucks....3 shooters
8 chickens...mmmmmvery tasty
